SERV executive named finalist for CFO of the Year award


    James J. Rose, SERV’s Vice President of  Finance and Chief Financial Officer, has been  selected as a finalist for the 2010 CFO of the  Year award by NJBIZ, a weekly business  journal covering the entire state.
    The CFO of the Year awards program  celebrates New Jersey’s financial executives  at all levels who contribute to the success of  New Jersey’s economic growth and stability.   Finalists will be recognized and the winners in  each of the six CFO categories will be  announced during a breakfast awards  ceremony on Oct. 26 at the Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset.
    According to Sarah Spangler, events coordinator for NJBIZ, Jim is  one of eight finalists in the category of large nonprofits with more  than 25 employees. The other finalists are CFOs from Catholic  Charities-Diocese of Trenton, Liberty Science Center, CentraState  Healthcare System, South Jersey Healthcare, Children’s Specialized  Hospital, United Jewish Communities of MetroWest NJ, and Princeton  HealthCare System.
    Jim is responsible for managing the finances and accounting for  SERV Behavioral Health System and all affiliated entities as well as  all insurance, banking and administrative contract negotiations.
    A Seton Hall University graduate in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree  in accounting, Jim became a Certified Public Accountant within three  years. He is a member of the N.J. Society of CPAs and the American  Institute of CPAs.  For more than 13 years he was managing partner  of his Princeton firm, Rose and Associates, LLC, which is now  operated by his daughter, Sharon Rose, CPA, in Hamilton.
    Jim is a trustee of the Princeton Elks, for which he was past  treasurer, and a treasurer and trustee of Colonnade Pointe  Condominium Association. He is past Chairman of the Board of both  SERV Behavioral Health System, Inc. and the Chamber of Commerce  of Princeton Area.  He is a past board member of the Center for  Innovative Family Achievements (now SERV Achievement Centers),  The SERV Foundation, and The Children’s Home Society of New  Jersey.  Jim also is past treasurer of U.S. Jaycees International and  past president and treasurer and current board member of the  Trenton Club.
