Housing, Support & Guidance*
Group Homes - The first step toward independence, these 24-hour supervised residences provide a home for adults who are working to cope with a serious mental illness. Residents are generally referred through a state psychiatric hospital.
Apartment Programs - A wide variety of apartment programs offer variation in support and supervision for those adults who are in the process of building a progressively more independent life.
Dually-Diagnosed - Specialized residential programs for individuals who have a mental illness as well as a chemical addiction.
Adult Foster Care - Long-term foster care for adults who are in need of the ongoing on-site assistance and supervision that a family setting can provide.
SERV Day Treatment
Building Skills for Independence
A daily structured program that is geared toward helping mental health consumers to remain healthy in the community and work toward greater independence. Working with a psychiatrist and clinical staff, SERV Day Treatment Program participants work on personal goals such as attaining a job as well as daily living skills.

Clifton Behavioral Healthcare is a division of SERV Centers of New Jersey, an affiliate of SERV Behavioral Health System, Inc. For more than 50 years, Clifton Behavioral Healthcare has been the place to turn for those who are uncertain where to turn next. This primary mental health center is for anyone who lives or works in Clifton and the surrounding area. We offer educational and support groups; family, couple and individual counseling; as well as adult and child psychiatric consultation, medication counseling and follow-up.
